Bra Band Project

The Bra Band Project originally aimed to raise awareness for women who need sub-32 band sizes.

The Bra Band Project, also known as BBP,[1] is an online, collaborative effort to show women the importance of proper sizing technique. The project's scope currently covers categories for band sizes 24 to 46+, and all women from all sizes are welcome to submit photos.[2] The pictures on BBP "represent a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and ages, and we all need and deserve bras that fit!"[1]

The project, originally hosted on Flickr, was first created to raise awareness of the 30 and under band sizes, especially those who are busty. Then, they were creating a sister project to focus on women who truly fit into the "common sizes", that is cup sizes A through DD and 32 to 38 bands. BBP chose expansion over a new tangent, however, so all bra sizes are covered under the project.

History[]

Inception[]

In the spring of 2012,[1] Bra Band Project was originally created to raise awareness of the 30 and under bra band size market after a few big-name, full-busted (DD+ cups) lingerie companies asserted that there was "no market" for 30 and under bands, and that "30 and under bands are for juniors".[3]

The project was hosted on Flickr and contained photographs of women who wear 30 and under bra bands, as per US/UK sizing. There were over 160 of such photographs between the categories "30 Bands", "28 Bands", "26 Bands and under", and "D and under cups".[4]

Expansion[]

On March 22, 2013, it was announced that the creation of a sister project, the "Perfectly Fitted Bra Project", was in the works.[5] However, the entire project just ended up expanding its scope to cover both needs. The Bra Band Project went through a major expansion.[6] In doing so, they moved from Flickr to their own domain.[7]

Now, its main focus is of women who truly fit into the "common sizes", that is A-DD in band sizes 32-38. The project's scope currently covers categories for band sizes 24 to 46+, and all women from all sizes are welcome to submit photos.[2]

Submission guidelines[]

One can submit her own photograph by either emailing to Bra Band Project[8], using the official submission form.[9], or my logging into the website through a third-party login.[10] The project asks for photographs of women who wear any band or cup size and accept the subject both fully clothed or down to a bra, but not nude.

Images may either be submitted through the online submission form,[11] or emailed to brabandproject@gmail.com. The wearer's UK size is required. The bra sizing by country page can be used to manually convert to UK size if needed.
