Pectus excavatum is a medical condition where the sternum, or breastbone, is sunken into the chest of an individual, causing a crater-like divot in between the breasts.

Bra fitting issues[]

Normally, a well-fitting bra would be one where the gore lays flat on the sternum. However, for people with pectus excavatum, it can be very difficult if not impossible for the gore to lay flat. When it comes to determining if a bra fits, if the band is not too large and the cups encase all of the breast tissue, you should not worry if the gore does not lay flat unless it begins to cause other fitting issues.
