A soft-cup bra is a bra without any padding in the cups. The term is often used interchangeably with bras that have no underwires, as well as bras that do have underwires, but may be lightly lined or unlined, just having one layer of fabric (like a sheer bra).

The cups, depending on whether or not they have seams, may conform to the shape of the breasts rather than have the breasts conform to them. When laid flat, the cups do not hold a shape like a molded-cup bra.

The 3-part Rive Gauche from Chantelle is an example of a soft-cup bra. [1]
